Blue CareOnDemand is a convenient telehealth service offered by BCBS of SC and BlueChoice HealthPlan SC, allowing members to easily access healthcare services on their phone or tablet. With 24/7 availability and no appointment required, it provides a fast and efficient way to receive medical care.
One of the key benefits of Blue CareOnDemand is the ability to choose from a selection of U.S. board-certified doctors with extensive experience, many of whom are based in South Carolina.
The platform ensures a safe and secure experience, with privacy being a top priority. All telemedicine visits with Blue CareOnDemand doctors are HIPAA-compliant, and both the visit and credit card transactions are fully secure to protect personal information.
Blue CareOnDemand is an excellent alternative for urgent care needs, allowing patients to bypass the challenges of waiting for doctors' office hours or dealing with crowded waiting rooms. This service covers a wide range of common conditions, including fever, sore throat, cough, flu, cold, bronchitis, sinus infection, respiratory infection, urinary tract infection, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach ache, pinkeye, sprains, strains, and headaches.
During the virtual office visit, doctors use live video and audio chat to interact with patients, assess symptoms, diagnose illnesses or injuries, suggest follow-up care, and even prescribe medication when appropriate.
The outstanding quality and popularity of Blue CareOnDemand are evident through its use of a platform developed by doctors. In fact, it was named the most popular consumer telehealth app worldwide in 2014 by App Annie and was awarded accreditation by The American Telemedicine Association.
To ensure seamless access to care when needed, it is recommended that users download the Blue CareOnDemand app and register as new users in advance. By setting up their profile ahead of time, users can expedite the doctor's visit and get back to their daily lives sooner.
It's important to note that telehealth services are not suitable for emergencies. In a medical emergency, it is crucial to call 911.
For Apple Health users, Blue CareOnDemand offers the option to share health information during virtual video visits. This includes heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, blood glucose levels, weight, nutritional information, and respiratory rate.
